Scottish Detainee Visitors
In December 2009 the University of Glasgow hosted a unique workshop to assess the research potential for establishing a network on a cross cutting research theme addressing migration, asylum and refugees. The event was unique in that it engaged knowledge exchange partners in the public and third sector in a participatory event to identify themes and co-design potential future work for a research network in this field.
A direct outcome was a commitment from the University of Glasgow’s VP for Research and Enterprise to provide seed corn funding, administrative support and leadership to enable the establishment of a research network.
In the six months following the initial scoping workshop GRAMNet has worked to develop a distinctive network structures, research clusters and KE partner membership.
GRAMNet has established an exciting and varied programme of events, many of which have a specific element of public engagement including the GRAMNet/BEMIS Annual Film Series.
